a talk on cancer and the environment. This event will be teleconferenced.
Look for coming marketing materials. November 8th or 15th - These dates will NOT
be utilized as inservice training dates. They are unsuitable to accommodate
your schedules - and we truly want as many of you to be able to participate
as possible.

New York City stepped up efforts to fight West Nile Virus by initiating pesticide-spraying campaigns. Pennsylvania contemplates the same. Information on pesticides from New York State Pennsylvania's West Nile Information Site More doesn't equal better when it comes to patient education material (from www.ahrq.gov). A study by the Agency for Healthcare Research conluded that patients prefer to receive a few well-selected handouts from their doctor over helping themselves to a large collection of them. The Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE EH) project publications is now available. The first copy is free to all local health departments, others are charged $50. This is a great resource for coalitions and clinics who want tools to assess and address environmental health and how to engage their communities in the process. Managing Household Hazardous Products was held July 28 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Pennsylvania Home*A*Syst Coordinator and Penn State Assistant Professor, Cathy Bowen, Ph.D. 's presentation focused on common household hazardous products, their selection, use, storage and disposal.
