Technical Assistance
The PA-BCERF Project supports programming efforts of the participating clinics and coalitions. Technical Assistance, i.e., assistance for all areas of program planning and implementation, is available to all participating coalitions and clinics. Technical assistance includes, but is not limited to, assistance with community assessment, program development, recruiting partners, media promotion, marketing and monitoring progress.
The PA-BCERF project has recruited a Technical Assistance Committee. Members of the committee are PA Area Health Education Centers Regional Health Educators and PA Department of Health Regional Cancer Coordinators. The members of this committee play an important role in the PA-BCERF project. They provide technical assistance to coalitions and clinics as part of their current professional roles, serve as an additional link between clinic and coalition sites with the PA-BCERF project staff members, serve on subcommittees to review technical assistance tools, and discuss timely issues/concerns of the participating coalitions and clinics.

Upcoming Education Opportunities [ Events Callendar ]
Education is provided to all participating coalitions and clinic sites through inservices, mailing updates, the PA-BCERF listserv, and the PA-BCERF website. Inservices are offered 3 - 4 times annually and are designed according to identified needs. Needs for training and technical assistance are assessed through the PA-BCERF Technical Assistance Committee, questions posted on PA-BCERF listserv, and formal and informal feedback from participating coalitions and clinic sites. Inservices are developed to enhance the skills for program planning on breast cancer and potential environmental risk factors for breast cancer. Topics include research findings related to breast cancer and environmental risk, methodologies for educating the public on breast cancer risk, and potential strategies for reducing exposure to potential environmental risks of breast cancer.
